at the Sol e Mar restaurant and start our hike with a short walk through the village. <\/sup><sup>Then begins the steep climb towards Raposeira. The path is wild, steep, and slippery in places\u2014but the higher we climb, the more impressive the view of Paul do Mar becomes.<br \/>\nKitty walks ahead, sometimes disappearing for a while, but always returning to check if we can keep up. She leads us through fields and meadows as we enjoy the silence, breathe in the fresh air, and discover the variety of flowers. Finally, we reach Raposeira, where old houses and friendly locals await us, always open for a little chat.<br \/>\nOur path takes us along a levada for a while before we switch to a newly constructed path towards Faj\u00e3 da Ovelha. The views are simply spectacular! Then we walk a short distance along the road \u2013 Kitty, now reluctantly on a leash, acts as if she hasn&#8217;t taken a single step.<br \/>\nFinally, we reach the starting point of our descent from Faj\u00e3 da Ovelha to Paul do Mar. In the warm sun, we walk downhill, always towards the sea. Once at the bottom, the water invites us to swim or enjoy a cool drink at the Bar da Praia. Kitty is greeted enthusiastically by the locals \u2013 and is still full of energy! <\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>Location<\/sup><\/strong><sup><br \/>\nThe course takes place outdoors. The route is 9.24 km long and the highest point is 570 m. <\/sup><\/p>\n<p><sup><strong>Meeting Point is <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/bLESfmumeetjGysD9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>Catering.<\/sup><\/strong><sup><br \/>\nNo meals will be provided. <\/sup><\/p>\n<p><sup>Registration is possible 24 hours in advance. Payment must be made in advance, either via the website booking system or by individual arrangement. <\/sup><\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>Special notes.<\/sup><\/strong><sup><br \/>\nIn case of inclement weather, the event may be canceled and the payment will be refunded. fishing village on the south coast of Madeira. Here we arrive and talk for a moment about mindfulness and enjoy the sound of the sea with a little breathing exercise. Each child can now look for a small lucky stone on the beach, which we put in our bag to paint later. Then we start our little journey through the secret paths in the banana plantations. I share my knowledge about banana cultivation and let myself be bombarded with questions, which I hope I can answer.<br \/>\nWith a bit of luck, water may even be flowing through one of the levadas. Since the paths through the banana plantations are a real insider tip, they are not always well-maintained, and we sometimes have to go cross-country over hill and dale. But we are guaranteed not to meet anyone \u2013 except perhaps a few locals who work in the banana plantations, or a few local dogs who like to follow me. Afterwards, we stop at a cozy rest area where you can try the sweet bananas from Madeira and then, refreshed, we paint our lucky stone. the sound of the sea in the background, allowing us to settle in and prepare ourselves mentally for the meditation hike. Then we begin our ascent: 600 meters of elevation gain and a 20% incline up to Faj\u00e3 de Ovelha. Step by step, we climb the mountain, breathing, pausing, marveling\u2014and getting closer not only to our destination, but also to ourselves.<br \/>\nDuring the ascent, it remains pleasantly shady at first, but on the last few meters of elevation, the sun greets us from behind the mountain. Once at the top, we enjoy the vastness of the ocean and the view of Paul do Mar \u2013 with a smile on our faces and perhaps a few beads of sweat on our foreheads.<br \/>\nAfter the quiet ascent, we take time to talk and share how we experienced the climb. Then you can decide whether to hike back down the same way or take the less traveled road.
