Freddie is a yoga teacher and Thai yoga massage practitioner from Portugal who lives in Madeira. Her work is characterized by mindfulness, presence, and a keen sense of the person sitting opposite her. In Thai yoga massage, she combines calm touch with gentle mobilization and stretching. This creates space for deep relaxation, letting go, and conscious body awareness.
Thai massage is an art with 2500 years, developed by a doctor and friend of Budha Gautama Siddharta, with Ayurveda (Traditional Indian Medicine) and Traditional Chinese Medicine influence, that is based on an invisible map of energy lines (sen) and acupuncture points (meridians) spread through the body.
Besides this pressure points with hands, feet, forearm, knees, we also stretch and rotate the joints.
The aim of this massage is to release tension in the muscles, stretching them, making space on the Fascia and all the connective tissues and moving the stagnant energy in the body (Prana or Chi) that will give a sensation of relaxation and lightness.
It’s a massage done without oils, on the floor and with clothes on.
Thai yoga massage is optional and can be booked as an add-on to the retreat.
A massage (60 minutes) costs €55 per person.
There is also a one-time travel fee of €20.
If several massages are booked, the travel fee will be divided.
As Freddie does not live directly in Paul do Mar, the massages are organized in advance.
About one month before the start of the retreat, I will ask all participants if they are interested in a massage.
The appointments will then be coordinated and finalized.
Payment is made directly to Freddie, for example in cash or via PayPal.
