Hi, I'm Kitty
My name is Kitty and I’m 5 years old.
I live in Paul do Mar on Madeira – with my mom Lena (you might know her as Yoga Lena do Mar) and many lovely villagers who have all taken me into their hearts.
Anyone who meets me is usually immediately cheerful – except for cats, because I really don’t like them at all.
Maybe you’re out on a walk with me right now because I simply followed you? Please just let Lena know so she knows where I am or can come pick me up. Here’s her number: +49 177 2357034
My story
I was found as a baby in a levada in Prazeres – completely alone, full of fleas and ticks. Luckily, many people from Paul do Mar go up there to drink poncha, and a lovely person discovered me and took me with them.
I was first adopted by a family. The little daughter gave me the name “Kitty.”
But somehow, it just wasn’t the right place for me – the family hardly had any time.
After that, I stayed for a short while with a kind man in the village.
But then Lena came to Paul do Mar – and everything changed.
I started going on walks with her and… well, to be honest, I kind of adopted her.
My life today
I am allowed to run around freely (although Lena is always a bit scared because of the roads and cars).
I love hiking, preferably up to Prazeres – and because Lena doesn’t come along every day, I often just follow the tourists with hiking boots and rucksacks.
Sometimes I get stuck in a poncha bar or a restaurant. Yes, my mom feeds me well, and so does my grandma (she lives just around the corner). But the food in the restaurant… it’s really delicious!
One of my favorite places is the XS Café, where a friend of Lena’s works. When I feel like it, I go back down to Paul do Mar with her – but only when I feel like it.

Then please take me back down to Paul do Mar. Or just call Lena, she often knows where I am – or picks me up. I also walk down alone, but you know how it is with mothers.
And I’m always thirsty after a hike like this – I also like to drink from my hand.
I'm not just cute - I work too!
Together with my mom, I also offer guided hikes that you can book.
Of course, I’ll join too – as your fluffy little hiking guide.
By the way, part of the proceeds are donated to help dogs in Madeira who aren’t as lucky as I am.
