Yoga in Madeira – with me in Paul do Mar
Are you planning your trip to Madeira – to this special island in the middle of the Atlantic?
The hiking boots are packed, maybe a travel guide too.
I remember my first trip here well – without expectations, without a plan. All I knew was that I needed a break.
Little did I know how much this place would touch me.
And that years later I would be teaching yoga right here:
Outside. By the sea. At the moment.
How Corona led me to my favorite place
Without Corona, I would probably never have discovered this place.
In March 2020, I started my three-month sabbatical and traveled to India to do yoga training – just for me, as an experience.
Then came the lockdown.
After just one month, I had to return to Frankfurt – I was still able to complete my training, but my original plan had changed completely.
I still wanted to use my remaining two months in January 2021. I searched:
“What is not a risk area?” – Answer: Madeira.
First I ended up in a small Ayurveda hotel in the east of the island, then I booked an Airbnb in the southwest – because of a single photo:
A bed with a sea view. Let’s go.
Little did I know at the time that this place would change my life.
First meeting with Paul do Mar
As soon as I drove down the old road to the Airbnb, I felt:
There is magic here.
The small fishing village of Paul do Mar – quiet, authentic, right on the Atlantic.
I have been practicing yoga for many years. Not always regularly, but it was always a part of my life – and my yoga mat was of course in my luggage.
At the harbor, with a view of the waterfall, I rolled it up for the first time.
I breathed. I moved.
And thought:
Teaching here – that would be it.
Today: Yoga and experiences in Paul do Mar
Four years later, I feel at home here.
I teach yoga classes for locals and holidaymakers – and also offer workshops and nature experiences that go beyond practicing on the mat.
Many locals affectionately call Paul do Mar “nosso paraíso” – our paradise.
And that’s exactly what I want to share in my offers.
My yoga offer for vacationers
-
Group lessons at the harbor or at the church
-
Languages of instruction: German and English

Workshops, nature and creative activities
In addition to the yoga classes, I offer various workshops and activities that have arisen from my experience and passion for nature, creativity and personal development:
-

Experiences that create space for silence, encounters and reconnection
Offers for children: experience, create, grow
As a trained social worker, it is particularly important to me to give children in Madeira an unforgettable experience.
I offer mandala workshops and creative nature activities especially for children – with the aim of encouraging their imagination, creating a connection to the environment and simply experiencing being a child in a special environment.
The workshops combine creative processes with experiencing nature – mindfully, playfully and with lots of fun.
What remains
My offers are more than just a yoga class or a workshop.
I share experiences, places and impulses that have deeply touched and changed me.
When you come to Madeira, I wish you not only relaxation –
but real connection. To yourself, to nature, to this place.
